CRPEG Bulletin (2014 November 25): Negotiations Update

Negotiations Update

Since the negotiations update provided at the CRPEG AGM in October, the two sides have not met and there are currently no negotiation dates scheduled. Initial dates for the hearing of the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to discuss essential services have not been given. Dates are expected to be scheduled for early in the new calendar year.

Please ensure that your home contact information with PIPSC is correct. We will be testing some alternate contact methods in the new year and need to have complete and accurate lists.

CRPEG Bulletin (2014 November 19): CRPEG Presentations to the House of Commons Natural Resources Committee and Senate Committe on Energy and the Environment

Yesterday, Vince and I attended House of Commons Natural Resources Committee meeting on the subject matter of clauses 376 to 381 of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures (Division 29). The link to the audio recording can be found here: http://parlvu.parl.gc.ca/parlvu/ContentEntityDetailView.aspx?contententityid=12277&date=20141118&lang=en

We also attended The Senate Committee on Energy and the Environment, also on Division 29 of Bill C-43. The link to the audio recording can be found here: http://senparlvu.parl.gc.ca/Guide.aspx?viewmode=4&categoryid=-1&currentdate=2014-11-18&languagecode=12298&eventid=12278

Attached are my speaking notes.

We want to see a seamless and successful transition of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. By including the new hires post share transfer in the PSSA 3-year transitional coverage, it keeps all employees on a level playing field, and will afford us the best opportunity to negotiate a pension plan to the satisfaction of everyone.
