UPDATE: CRPEG Bulletin (2013-09-27) – Delegation of Authority Forms

CRPEG Executive advises our members to not sign Delegation of Authority Forms for the acceptance of Work Permit authorization.  We have concerns with employee relations implications.  We are involved in discussion with the Employer to resolve these concerns.

Note that following the initial release of the bulletin to members on 2013-09-27, AECL decided that the Delegation of Authority for Work Permit Authorizers will not be implemented at this time.

CRPEG Bulletin (2013-09-17) – Christmas Shutdown

Members are reminded that Christmas is fast approaching, and to plan for the Christmas shutdown.

The Christmas shutdown extends from the afternoon of December 24th through to January 1.  Statutory holidays are Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.  Employees may use any of the following options to cover the 3.5 day shutdown:

  • Vacation
  • Personal business days
  • Company floating holidays
  • Banked time
  • Leave without pay

Under the provisions of the CRPEG collective agreement, the accumulation of banked time must be on productive work with the prior approval of management, worked in minimum 30 minute periods.  Opportunities to accumulate banked time will not be unreasonably restricted.

Clarification: minimum 30 minute periods means that the period of time cannot be less than 30 minutes (i.e. 15 minutes), but rather any period 30 minutes and greater.  It does not have to be in 30 minute increments, e.g. 45 minutes can be banked.

If members have any questions or issues, please contact a Steward.
